So you have been planning an adventure with your besties and cant decide where to go. You want to let lose and have the time of your lives while surrounded by the most beautiful beaches on Earth. Look no further; Mykonos, Greece is your answer.
For the Beach Bunnies:
There is a beach for every type of mood you may be in.
Craving a wild day in the sun? If so, this the place for you. This beach is filled with lots of energy, loud music, and strong drinks. You will swear you’re on Spring Break no matter what month it is.
If you’re in the mood for a mellow day of bronzing, Paraga Beach is your answer. Here you will find plenty of yummy snacks (I suggest the fruit bowl, it’s a watermelon filled with all kinds of delicious fresh fruits) and lots of feel good vibes.
Want to “be seen”? Put on your designer sunglasses, wear your most stylish beachwear, and head to Psarou Beach. Here you will find the most gorgeous ocean colors to match the equally gorgeous people you will see here. Be prepared for champagne showers when the party gets started!
For the Foodies:
The food is amazingly fresh and delicious. These restaurants are a must when visiting Mykonos.
Come with an appetite because the portions are made for family style eating. I loved eating here because the food is traditional Greek, fresh, and the family style of eating brings everyone at the table together. I joked that I could drink the olive oil and tzatziki straight up. (I was only half joking, it’s that good) Also, after dining one must have a shot of Masticha with dessert. It is a Greek liquor and natural digestive produced only in Greece. “Yamas” will become a part of your vocabulary here; it means “cheers.”
Beach Bar Restaurant on Psarou Beach: After enjoying a day in the big comfy sun beds continue to a fine dining experience. Here you will find the freshest seafood on the island surrounded by the most beautiful beach scenery. The perfect dinner spot to watch the sunset and enjoy an amazing meal. Be aware that when the sun goes down this place really heats up. Expect dancing on tables and champagne showers.
there are tons of bakeries in this adorable area all of which have amazing pastries and goodies of all kinds. I couldn’t find a bakery I didn’t like. If you love Italian food, Interni Restaurant Bar is located here. They have a great menu with handmade pasta. It doesn’t get much better than that.
For the Night Owls:
Helpful tip: Make sure to nap before a night out in Mykonos because their nights start when most of the world’s nights end.
Caprice in Mykonos Town
Ocean breeze, delicious cocktails, and good vibes made this my number one go-to spot. Try and snag the table by the big window that over looks the ocean. Something about the fresh air mixed with a lively crowd makes this place magical in its own little Mykonos way.
So you have had a couple cocktails at Caprice and you’re feeling like dancing. Astra is just a short walk to dance fever paradise. This is a high-energy club with an outdoor feel due to the glowing stars on the ceiling.
above Paradise Beach: Still haven’t had enough? Want to party until the sun comes up? My friend, you have found the place. This club hosts some of the biggest DJs in the World and is known for being one of the best party clubs on Earth. Here you will dance the night away and watch the sunrise over the beautiful island.
Mykonos tips for any traveler.
This is such a charming and lively area with a maze of streets lined with anything and everything you may want and need. With its beautiful whitewashed steps, boutiques, churches, and cafes you will feel like you’re in a labyrinth of Mykonos bliss.
I believe it is very important to befriend the locals wherever you travel. I was very fortunate to meet some of the greatest people in Mykonos and my trip would not have been the same without them. Everyone is super friendly here and will be happy to show you the ropes and tell you where you should go. Without them you will miss so many hidden gems. They are what separates you from being a tourist to feeling like a local yourself. side note: this of course, comes with safety precautions you should always follow so use your best judgment when meeting anyone away from home.
Now, go pack your bags and book a vacation you’ll never forget!
